It isn’t unusual that the desire of spending a holyday in an exotic place pushes us towards far regions, different in rhythms and traditions. But there is no need to go too far. There is a place in Apulia where customs are kept alive... “Salento”.
Salento is at the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, in the southern extreme of Europe, stretched towards the eastern part of the Adriatic Sea. Its geographical position, its territory rich of culture and traditions, its mild climate and its clear sea make this place the ideal destination to live your days surrounded by nature. And what about the cuisine? How to resist that flavours? The products of this fertile soil allow the creations of new recipes and every single town has got its own dish, always different from all the others. And, like the dishes, also the sound of the dialects changes.
In Salento nature is fascinating and beautiful. Riding a bicycle or a horse, walking, using a sailing boat or a canoe you will be able to discover it and love it, enjoying its silence and its clean air. This is “Salento”. In the book were included maps of itineraries by mountain bike or on foot, downloadable (.gpx, .kml, .tcx etc...) or viewable on your smartphone via QR Code in three different processes: 1- Google Maps; 2- GPSies; 3- Komoot. 2 and 3 (satellite navigation) are a free app that allows you to have all the information on a path (elevation profiles, this type of ground: cycle track, asphalt, road, etc...) And download tracks in .gpx GPS.
This volume describes the following sites: The natural pools in Salento, Roca, Torre dell'orso, Alimini lake, Bauxite mine lake, Punta Palascìa.
