A middle school boy in Korea is given a creative writing assignment. He writes two very long short stories for class, but before his third one he finds out he is going to move. His first story, finds two Korean boys that like each other, but one is afraid to care about anyone, because he had been hurt while living on the streets.
At the end of the book you find it was written by an ESL student after all.

Mark had been adopted by the Sun's, after his real parent's couldn't be found. He had lost his memory, and had no identification when he was found living on the streets of Baran. Although when he started to remember, he didn't tell much. Mr. and Mrs. Sun had never been able to have children, and now that they were in their early 50's they had given up on that dream. Mr. Sun had dedicated his life to working in construction, and now he was the proud owner of the richest construction company in both Sung and Suwon cities.
