Synopsis
A Ride In The Mind Of A Whistler Taxi Driver follows a ski-bum named Marshall over a night’s work driving cab. The evening begins in the fall, at the beginning of the 1996-97 ski season, and ends in the spring, as the season is coming to a close. During which time, Marshall’s character goes through subtle yet profound changes as he questions life and is transformed by the wonder of skiing the coastal mountains of Whistler, British Columbia (host of 2010 Winter Olympics). Each fare brings a new emotion and a different theme explored including: abuse, the environment, prostitution, weed culture, imperialism, control, propaganda, self-actualization, death, camaraderie, humanity, power, altruism, freedom, angst, love, joy, hallucinogens, 2012, drinking and sex. The life of the ski bum plays out with all its’ inherent components of thrills, spills, tokes and jokes. Conflict, resolution, and the return all build to a final climax. Step in for a ride.
