In the Roman Republic of the XXVIIIth century from Rome foundation, a young girl named Silyen is growing. She’ll be soon an adult and, because of her impulsive nature, she will have to spend the last months of her childhood away from home in a rehabilitation college, in one of the Roman provinces.
The whole world sees an era of peace and prosperity. An apparently perfect world, where citizens move without restrictions and technology provides security, recreation, education and even the conquest of Mars. Euthanasia, prostitution and the Blood Purification ritual are the main ways used to control not only the population increase but also the instincts of man: sexuality and aggressiveness. The crimes are almost inexistent and lawbreakers are re-educated or confined in the penal colony of Oceania.
Through the protagonist’s eyes, into a natural and spiritual New World setting, we will experience adventure, friendship and love. A tormented and problematic love, felt even from the point of view of Lucius, fascinating prosecutor and fencing master.
However an Enemy, cautious and inexorable, is plotting secretly and will use, in order to achieve his purposes, people surrounding the protagonist, who will have to face losses and sudden and unexpected role reversals. This because, despite the efforts of Silyen and her family to assure a perfect integration into the system, something in her nature seems to thwart.
