Jake Hehl pitched a single game for the Brooklyn Robins in 1918. He was a star pitcher and all around athlete for Brooklyn Prep. Later he was a star bowler in the Catholic leagues in Brooklyn, New York. From a German immigrant family, Hehl worked as a bartender after laboring for years as a pitcher in the minor leagues of baseball. He died in 1961.
