The Sport of Queens is the third special-issue magazine published originally by the Iowa Greyhound Association: (1) Travels with Jones, (2) From Cairo to Iowa: on the trail of the racing Greyhound, and (#) The Sport of Queens. The Sport of Queens features Iowa Greyhound farms, Greyhound racing, puppies to racing to adoption, 56 pages of Iowa folks and dogs who make Iowa Greyhound racing the best in the world. Two fun surveys run throughout. Should the word Greyhound be capitalized? And, where does the expression The Sport of Queens come from? Maddog McDermutt and Little Elsie, the nom de plumes of Robert McKinnon and Suzy McKinnon, have traveled and written dog stories in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, Wales, England, Scotland, as well as most of the tracks in the United States. Bev Yates was the driving force behind the publication of all three magazines.
