What is the greatest, the most joyous, and the most glorious news? It is the news of the Advent of great Messengers and Redeemers from God. Yet when people hear this news, they pay little if any attention to it. The Advent of Jesus was considered so insignificant by historians of His time that they barely mentioned Him!
Could history once again repeat itself? Is it possible that the people of our time are surrounded by the same “clouds of misconceptions, assumptions, and unfounded expectations” that prevented the Jews from seeing the Glory of Jesus—“the light of the world”? This book invites you to consider such a possibility. What can you lose by making sure that you have not missed this most glorious News? Jesus asked us repeatedly to “Watch!”
Be on guard! Be alert!...keep watch…do not let him fin you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: “Watch!” Christ (Mark 13:33-37 NIV)
What does He mean by asking us to “Watch!”? He means: “Watch out for the News of My coming!” This small book offers you an opportunity to honor Jesus’ instructions, to investigate this most glorious News.
The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Isaiah 14:2 NIV
You are Invited to Know
Blessed are those who are invited… Christ (Rev. 19:9 NIV)
In the Scriptures, religion is likened to a vineyard or a garden; God to the gardener (Matt. 5:13); His Messengers or Redeemers to trees (Matt. 13:1-23; 5:13); and their lives, teachings, and influence to fruits (Matt. 7:15). In each age or season, God creates a new garden and plants a new tree—the Tree of Life—that bears fresh fruit for the soul.
Why does the supreme Gardener create the garden? His goal is to offer spiritual nourishment to all those who thirst and hunger for the fruits of heaven.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Christ (Matt. 5:6 NIV)
But at the beginning of the new season, most people refuse to visit the new garden. Some of them are afraid to even look at its wondrous fruits.
Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Christ (Luke 12:32 NIV)
History shows that people have always rejected their Redeemers:
The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Christ (John 3: 32 NIV)
There was a landowner who planted a vineyard…Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit. The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. Christ (Matt. 21:33-35 NIV)
This book presents conclusive evidence to show that once again God has created a new vineyard in the utmost beauty and splendor. We have received the honor of being invited to visit this vineyard and still the greater honor of being chosen by the Gardener:
For many are invited, but few are chosen. Christ (Matt. 22:14 NIV)
The Greatest News is an invitation to all those hungry for truth and knowledge to come for a short walk through this beautiful vineyard of joy and peace. The invitation takes the form of a brief dialogue between two friends.
One friend wants to share with the other the news of the coming of a new Messenger or Redeemer from God—known as Bahá’u’lláh, the Glory of God. Since this is a sensitive subject, he tries to break the news gently. He cherishes his friend and does not want to alienate him. This book is a record of his daydreams. If you were in his place, how would you break this news? What would be your daydream?
