2700 Historical Sites Across Texas (English Edition)

This book is the result of over 40 years of researching the rich history of our great state of Texas. From the very beginnings of our journey as a part of Spain, France, and Mexico, through the years of National Statehood, and on into our Western Years of frontier settlement, this book is a compilation of historical sites that have faded from memory. I have spoken to the old timers, searched the libraries and newspapers, and have put together a book that is unequaled in number of historical sites.
This book has over 2700 Lost Towns, Abandoned Communities, Deserted Churches, Old Cemeteries, River Crossings used by the Wagon Trains headed west, and even springs that were used by weary travelers as they migrated to, or through Texas. There are Forts and Battles, Reunion gatherings, Fairs and carnivals, swimming holes and bandit hideaways. They are all here, within these pages.
There are two versions of this book. One E-book, that is over 800 pages infused with historical notes, and the other, is a hard copy, for your easy reference while traveling. Both are divided by Counties within the state.
Whether you are a metal detectorist, ghost town tourist, a geocache hunter, a historian, a student of history, or just plain curious about our rich heritage, this book can be either a starting place, or a destination in your travels. It is a source of refined information on the locations of our past.
I have traveled to some of the sites located in the book in those 4 plus decades, and the realization that I will never see them all is what brought this book to life. I want to share what I have learned, so you too can join me in the hunt for history…..
