This is the official photo guide to the Colorado Super Connect authorized by its designer Jean Vives. There are over 50 beautiful photos of the Colorado Rockies during fabulous Spring skiing conditions. White snow and blue skies! That is what makes Spring skiing so wonderful. The days are longer, the temperatures are comfortable and the snow is hard and compacted after a long winter. There are very few avalanche dangers to be concerned about since most avalanche dangers have resolved themselves already. There are very few people at the ski resorts since most of them are closed. But there are many stores still open to the locals and there are restaurants and hotels that are open as well. The buses still run and there are even taxies you can get if you need one. Van transportation is available from Denver International Airport can take you to the start of the ski tour in Vail and pick you up at the tours end in Winter Park. But you may wish to take a train back to Denver as a scenic way to see the mountains between Winter Park and Denver! It is a wonderful adventure that as yet to be recognized as one of the mountain treasures of Colorado and of the world for matter. It is the highest ski tour of its type in the world. Skiing takes place at an average altitude of 11,000 feet while most of the base villages are at 9,000 feet. The tour is 62 miles in length. It takes 7 days of skiing. There is an average of 19,500 feet of ascent and 24,400 feet of descent.
This compares favorably to the statistics of the famous Haute Route between Chamonix, France and Zermatt, Switzerland. This is a great adventure that no doubt will have Europeans wanting to try it themselves!
